Welcome to Hednesford Town Council
Welcome to the Hednesford Town Council website and thank you for visiting. We’re delighted to share our developments and events with you and keep you up to date about vital services in the town.
You’re welcome to get in touch via the website to tell us what you think or send enquiries. As a council, we’re very proud to serve Hednesford and to help promote the town, its businesses, organisations and individuals.
One of our more recent achievements was to be named as the first ‘Dementia friendly’ town in Staffordshire – and you can read all about it in our news section.
The regeneration of Hednesford continues, thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to help make the town such a great place to live and work.
What we do
We’re proud to serve our community. A town council is the most local level of government.
We have a key role in promoting our town, representing local people’s interests and supporting the fantastic work of various community groups.
Our regular meetings discuss what’s going on in our town – from provision of CCTV cameras to funding for voluntary groups and welcoming new residents.
Town councillors know the area and represent their views to other authorities like the District and County Council, Health Authorities, Police and Fire Authorities. We are entitled to be consulted on planning applications, which include work to listed buildings and are often consulted on such things as schools and roads. We put the town’s case at public inquiries.
How you can get involved
The Town Council welcomes the involvement in its work from all residents in the area. All meetings are open to the public and there is an opportunity for public questions at the start of every Full Council Meeting.
News will appear about a series of Town Conferences and how residents can participate. The Council gets involved in the organisation of various events from time to time – for example the Town Centre Christmas event. If you are willing to assist in the planning and organisation please contact the Council.
To receive details of forthcoming meetings please send an email to email@example.com.
